Hey guys! Welcome to rules that can't be broken! Remember how I told you that we were going to talk about Newton? You don't remember who he is? Well if you must have a picture....
See? The over-achiever is back! This time he created three rules, or laws, that can't be broken. If you read my blog on Newton, then you'll remember that he created three laws of motion. Let's take this step by step shall we?
Rule #1: Every object persists in its state of rest or uniform motion in a straight line unless it's compelled to change that state by forces impressed on it. So basically nothing is gonna move unless you push or pull it. And nothing is gonna stop moving unless you push or pull it. You want examples? Since you asked so nicely! =)
Let's use your phone for example. If I hold it up in the air, it isn't gonna move until I drop it (or push it down, whichever you prefer). Now that phone is gonna stay where it is until you push or pull it. Got it? Good.
Rule #2: Force is equal to the change in momentum per change in time. For a constant mass, force equals mass times acceleration. In simpler terms, kicking a basketball and a bowling ball with the same force is gonna hurt. Besides it hurting, the basketball will go farther. Why? Because it is lighter than said bowling ball. Now if I push the bowling all with more force, it will move just as far because there was more force. And the rest is just the formula F=m*a.
Rule #3: For every action, there is an equal and opposite re-action. So again to put it simpler terms, for every force there is a reaction that is same in size, but opposite in direction. An example would be doing a belly flop in a pool. When you jump, you land in the water, it makes a splash. Let's just say the bigger you are, the bigger the splash. Now, here's a hilarious picture. Not really. But kinda. And something really cool below. Both show the third law. Role the pics!
Thanks for looking at my extremely short blog post. I know there wasn't a lot but still remember....
So all of my information came from here. All the pictures are just a Ctrl +Click away! Thanks for viewing! xx -G
