Heat and Dumb 'Fanfic' Moments

You may be questioning my title. For those of you who know what fan fiction is, I applaud you. Society has poisoned your mind and you have become... one of us. To those of you who have no idea what I'm talking about, you may need to question if you know any teenage girls. I'll get to that later.

So, heat transfer is what we will be talking about in this particular post. "But Gabby, what is heat transfer?" I'm glad you asked mysterious person reading this. Heat Transfer is the process of thermal energy going from one substance or material to another. If you have watched Teen Wolf (if you do, I need you to comment because I love that show too much for other's comfort) you would know when Peter was set on fire with whatever Lydia made. Since I can't show that picture here, but I can show you a picture from a movie you all know and hopefully love.

This girl is on fire!!! Hate that song.... Well indirectly Katniss is displaying radiation! What is radiation you ask? I can honestly tell you that it isn't lighting yourself on fire (Please don't.). It's the transfer of energy in waves or rays. So if Katniss was ACTUALLY on fire, Peeta would feel an immense amount of radiation, and probably burn himself.

Next we have convection. Convection is another form of heat transfer that happens when warm portions of liquids ad gases rise and the cool liquids sink. Still don't understand? Ok let's take a real life example. Ever been in your room or attic and realize it gets kinda warm in there? The heat rose to the higher leveled floor. Odds are, if you have a basement, it will be on of the coldest places in your house. Besides the freezer of course.

Conduction is the last one so sit tight for a little longer. Conduction is the transfer of heat through direct contact. There are things called conductors. Conductors are materials or objects that allow energy to flow in them. Metal is good example. Blacksmiths stick metal in fire to make it into shapes. That's because the metal heats up with direct contact in the fire and it slowly changes state from solid to liquid! Ta- da! That also happens to be a main reason blacksmiths wear gloves, to keep them from burning themselves. See, the tricky part is that the heat spreads through out the conductor, all the way to the tiny tip. One direct touch to heated metal and you are burned worse than severely over-microwaved bacon.  Insultors are important aswell. They keep you warm. Like UGG boots! Ever wonder why girl love them? Because the inside is lined with faux fur and keep your feet toasty warm. They trap heat into an object

See? Pain is not good children. Take that lesson and run with it. Now if you didn't catch a word of what I just typed for you guys (thanks for hurting my feelings) I do have a song for this one. Feel free to watch it! 'Til next time comrades! xx - G

I guess you may want to know why I related this topic to dumb fanfic moments huh? Well here is your quote from the ever so favored 'Save You Tonight' series; "I felt the heat rise to my cheeks as he said his compliment". See! She was blushing! She felt heat! See my connection? No? Ok... :(
