Solids -
- tightly compacted
- Shape and volume are stable
- packed closer than liquids and gases
Liquids -
- free to flow
- has a definite volume
- no definite shape
- Matter that moves randomly
- No definite volume of mass
Plasma
- electrically charged gas
- positively charged ions and unbound electrons.
- Three forms known on Earth: lightning, fire, and neon signs that say 'Open'
And let's not forget the substance you called a soliquid as a kid. Things like pudding and cake batter that are thick too be liquid but too runny to be solid? Yeah those are called colloids. Next we have condensation, sublimation, and deposition. After a hot shower or something , usually, I'm talking 9/10 times you take a shower (here's to hoping you all take one...), the mirror is fogged up. That fog is condensation, or a gas desperately trying to go back into a liquid. Ah yes, sublimation, my personal favorite. When a gas straight to a solid. No liquid. I guess you could say it cut out the middle state of matter. Oh that was a bad joke. Any who, dry ice is a perfect example. It's frozen carbon dioxide, not to mention if it makes direct contact it hurts... a lot. Like your skin will burn. So don't do it. Please. Last but not least, technically, is deposition. Deposition is the CONCEPT of a gas going straight into a solid. Like ice crystals and such!
Ok well I have to go now! I hope I helped somewhat! If this works as it did on my laptop then the pictures are hyperlinks just press Ctrl and click and it should lead you there. Here is a nice song for you guys! Have nice week and check out my previous post about the most awesome invention ever! xx - G
